Cir4Fun Showcased at EFFRA’s Manufacturing Partnership Days
Cir4Fun was recently featured at the influential Manufacturing Partnership Days (#ManuDays25) in Brussels, hosted by EFFRA (the European Factories of the Future Research Association). This three-day event, that ran from October 20th to 22nd, is an important forum for the ‘Made in Europe’ research community.
Project partner CERTH (Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas) played a key role, actively showcasing Cir4Fun’s core goals in the main exhibition area. The overall objective was clear: to ensure our circular innovation for the furniture sector is fully integrated into the EU’s manufacturing future.
The highlight for Cir4Fun occurred on Day 2, which was dedicated entirely to Circularity & Sustainability. During a special project session, Alexandros Nizamis (CERTH), from the project’s Technical Coordination, presented Cir4Fun’s strategy alongside other initiatives working to advance sustainability in European manufacturing. This provided a crucial opportunity to define the project’s unique role in tackling waste and promoting longevity within the furniture value chain.
The event was a great opportunity for fostering collaboration. Representatives from AIDIMME (the project’s Coordinator), POLIMI, and UNINOVA were also present, engaging in high-level networking. Their presence ensured that Cir4Fun reinforced synergies with parallel projects and initiatives under the Horizon Europe programme. Connecting with industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers in the exhibition area was essential for exchanging ideas and securing the path for adopting the project’s innovative tools and models across Europe.
