Gathering Insights at the Heart of Global Design: Cir4Fun at 3daysofdesign

From 11 to 12 June, project partner CBS represented Cir4Fun at 3daysofdesign, Denmark’s premier annual design festival. Conceived as a vibrant platform to celebrate great design, the event transforms Copenhagen into an open-air hub where local and global talent meet, network, and find fresh inspiration.

With an incredibly relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, the festival drew thousands of international attendees this year. This impressive scale provided an exceptional backdrop for the project to engage directly with the global design community.

The main objective for the visit was twofold: expanding the project network within the international furniture community and gathering critical research inputs for upcoming circular models. Because the festival encourages direct interaction with design brands in unique showrooms and galleries across the city, it proved to be the ideal ecosystem to discuss the practicalities of circular economy frameworks.

The feedback and overall impact from the two days in Copenhagen were remarkably positive. The event secured valuable connections with a diverse range of forward-thinking furniture manufacturers, designers, and supply chain professionals. Engaging with these stakeholders gave clear, real-world perspectives on how the industry views the transition to circular models and what is required from digital tools like the Digital Product Passport.

As the project moves deeper into the implementation phase, the research insights and industry relationships built at 3daysofdesign will play a major role in ensuring final tools are practical, scalable, and fully aligned with the daily realities of the furniture market.
