CIR4FUN Partner SUPSI Presents SARA use case at REBUILDD Summer School

Project partner SUPSI represented CIR4FUN at the REBUILDD Summer School at its Mendrisio Campus in Switzerland this September, sharing digital assessment tools with researchers and professionals from across the built environment sector.

The five-day event aimed to give participants hands-on skills for applying circular economy principles to real-world projects, covering everything from everyday furniture to full-scale architecture.

During a session on 1st September titled “Design for Sustainability and Circularity: from measure to decision-making”, SUPSI presented how environmental data can be used early in the design process to make better choices before production starts and to analyse different end of life scenarios. The presentation showed how aLife Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool developed by SUPSI could be used by a manufacturing company like SARA SA as a tool supporting decision making at design phase and in the selection of the best circular business model from the environmental point of view. The presentation was intended to demonstrate how digital systems help manufacturers measure impact, reduce waste, and improve resource efficiency.

Contributing to the event allowed SUPSI to share CIR4FUN’s technical outputs directly with the next generation of circular design specialists.
